SendSlim Medical Weight-Loss Program
A safe, simple, online program to help you lose weight with real medical care.
The SendSlim program helps adults in California and Nevada lose weight using telehealth visits, lab-guided care, and, when safe, weight-loss medicines. This page explains what the program is, who it’s for, and what’s included.
What Is the SendSlim Program?
SendSlim Clinic is an online medical weight-loss program.
- You meet with a licensed clinician by video or phone.
- We look at your whole health, not just the number on the scale.
- We create a plan that fits your real life, not a perfect fantasy.
We use a mix of:
- Medical visits
- Lab tests (when needed)
- Lifestyle changes
- Possible weight-loss medicines (only if they are safe for you)
This is not a quick-fix diet or a “miracle pill” site.
It is real medical care, done in a simple and friendly way.
Who Is the Program For?
The SendSlim program is designed for adults who:
- Are 18 years or older
- Are physically in California or Nevada during visits
- Struggle with overweight or obesity
- Want help from a medical provider, not just an app or influencer
Many of our patients also have:
- Pre-diabetes or diabetes
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Joint pain, back pain, or low energy from extra weight
- Fatty liver or other weight-related health issues
If we feel our program is not a good fit for you, we will tell you and suggest other options when we can.
What’s Included in the Program
Here’s what you can expect as part of the SendSlim program:
1. Telehealth Visits
- New patient visit to review your history and build your first plan
- Follow-up visits to check progress and adjust the plan
- All visits are by video or phone from home
2. Lab-Guided Care (When Needed)
- Labs to check things like blood sugar, liver, kidneys, and cholesterol
- Labs help us see your health risks and keep you safe on treatment
- We may use recent labs from your primary care provider if they are up to date
3. Medication Review and Options
- We review your current medications and health history
- We talk about weight-loss medicines, but only if they are safe and appropriate
- We explain risks, benefits, and costs in plain language
4. Lifestyle Support
- Simple ideas for food and eating patterns
- Easy ways to add more movement to your day
- Tips for sleep and stress, which also affect weight
5. Ongoing Follow-Up
- Regular check-ins to see what is working
- Changes to medicine or plan when needed
- Encouragement and honest feedback, without shame
What’s Not Included
The program fee does not include:
- Lab test costs (these are usually billed by the lab, not by us)
- Medication costs (billed by the pharmacy)
- Devices such as smart scales or blood pressure cuffs
- Services from other clinics, urgent care, ERs, or specialists
We will try to help you understand possible costs, but we do not control lab or pharmacy prices.
How the Program Works Over Time
First Visit (Month 1)
- You complete your online intake form.
- You have a new patient visit (45–60 minutes).
- We may order labs if needed.
- You leave with a first plan for lifestyle changes and, if safe, a medication plan.
Early Follow-Ups (First 2–3 Months)
- We check your weight, symptoms, and side effects.
- We review any lab results.
- We adjust your dose or plan as needed.
- You learn what is realistic and what needs more support.
Ongoing Care
- We set a follow-up schedule that makes sense for you.
- Some patients need more frequent visits at first, then less over time.
- The goal is steady, safe progress rather than fast, unsafe changes.
Medications in the Program
Weight-loss medications can be helpful for some people, but they are not for everyone.
In the SendSlim program:
- Medications are never guaranteed.
- We do not prescribe drugs we believe are unsafe for you.
- We may stop or change medicines if they cause problems or are not helping.
- We always combine medicine with lifestyle changes, not medicine alone.
If a medicine is not safe, not affordable, or not right for you, we will explain why and focus on other tools that can still help your health.
For more details, see our Medication Safety page.
Your Part in the Program
To get the most out of SendSlim, we ask that you:
- Fill out forms honestly and completely
- Keep your appointments and be on time
- Tell us about all medicines and supplements you take
- Let us know as soon as you have side effects or new health issues
- Follow your plan as best you can and tell us when something isn’t working
- Keep a primary care provider for general and urgent health needs
We don’t expect perfection. We expect honesty and effort.
Our job is to adjust the plan, not to judge you.
Limits of the Program
SendSlim is not right for:
- Medical emergencies or life-threatening problems
- People who are not willing to share their true history and medications
- People outside California or Nevada at the time of their visit
We may also say “no” when:
- A requested medicine or dose is unsafe
- A type of care you want is outside our training or license
We will always explain our reasoning and, when possible, suggest other options.
Not for Emergencies
SendSlim is not an emergency service.
If you have:
Chest pain or trouble breathing
Signs of stroke (sudden weakness, confusion, trouble speaking, loss of vision)
Severe allergic reaction (swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; trouble breathing)
Thoughts of harming yourself or others
Any symptom that feels severe or life-threatening
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room right away.
Do not wait for a telehealth visit or a message back from our team.
