Who SendSlim Is For: What Patients Need to Know

When you’re thinking about starting a weight-loss program, it helps to know:

“Is this clinic meant for someone like me?”

This simple guide explains who SendSlim is for, who it may not be right for, and what you can expect.

This article is general information, not personal medical advice.
SendSlim visits do not replace emergency care or full primary care.

What Is SendSlim?

SendSlim Clinic is an online, medically managed weight-loss program run under Affection Health Care LLC.

Key points:

  • Visits are done by telehealth (video or phone).
  • We see adults 18 and older.
  • You must be physically in California or Nevada at the time of your visit.
  • The program is cash-based (self-pay). SendSlim does not bill insurance.

We treat weight and obesity as medical conditions, not personal failures.

Who SendSlim Is For

SendSlim may be a good fit for you if:

1. You’re an adult in California or Nevada

SendSlim is for:

  • Adults 18 years and older
  • Who are physically located in California or Nevada during each telehealth visit

If you travel, you must be in one of these states at the time of your appointment.

2. You’re struggling with your weight and want medical help

SendSlim is for people who:

  • Have been trying to lose weight on their own
  • Have tried diets, apps, or programs and keep regaining
  • Feel stuck, discouraged, or overwhelmed
  • Want a medical plan, not just “eat less and move more”

You do not need to have done everything perfectly before coming.
You can come as you are.

3. You have health issues that might be related to weight

Many SendSlim patients have one or more of these:

  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol or triglycerides
  • Prediabetes or type 2 diabetes
  • Fatty liver
  • Sleep apnea
  • Joint or back pain that is worse with extra weight

We work to improve your overall health, not just the number on the scale.

4. You want a telehealth option that fits real life

SendSlim is a good fit if you:

  • Have a busy schedule
  • Prefer visits from home, work, or car (parked)
  • Live far from in-person clinics
  • Need care that fits around:
    • Childcare
    • Shift work
    • Long commutes

You get care from a licensed clinician by secure video or phone, without sitting in a waiting room.

5. You want a non-judgmental, long-term approach

SendSlim is for people who:

  • Are tired of being shamed about their weight
  • Want someone who listens and explains things in simple terms
  • Understand that weight management is a long-term process
  • Are open to:
    • Food and habit changes
    • Gentle movement (within your limits)
    • Looking at sleep, stress, and emotions
    • Considering weight-loss medications when safe and appropriate

We don’t expect perfection. We expect real life.

    • Struggles to find time for themselves
    • Needs easy ideas that work with family meals and tight schedules
  • The Person with Pain or Low Energy
    • Has knee, hip, or back pain
    • Feels too tired for “hard workouts”
    • Needs a gentle plan that respects their body
  • The Person Worried About Health Numbers
    • Recently told they have prediabetes or high blood pressure
    • Wants to prevent things from getting worse
    • Wants help understanding labs and making a plan

If you see yourself in any of these, SendSlim may be a good fit.

Who SendSlim May Not Be Right For

To keep you safe, there are times when SendSlim is not the right choice.

SendSlim is not for:

1. Emergencies or crisis care

SendSlim does not treat emergencies, such as:

  • Chest pain or trouble breathing
  • Stroke symptoms (sudden weakness, trouble speaking, face drooping)
  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Thoughts of harming yourself or others

These are emergencies. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

2. Patients under 18

SendSlim is for adults only (18+).

We do not provide pediatric or teen weight-loss care.

3. People outside California or Nevada

If you are not physically in California or Nevada during the visit, we cannot see you through SendSlim.

4. People who need full primary care

SendSlim does not replace your regular doctor.

You still need a primary care provider for:

  • Yearly checkups
  • Vaccines
  • Pap smears and other screenings
  • Complex or urgent health issues

We focus on weight and related conditions, and we can coordinate with your main doctor when needed.

5. Pregnancy and certain special situations

SendSlim may not be a fit if:

  • You are currently pregnant
  • You are breastfeeding and need special nutrition guidance
  • You need care that must be done in person right away

We can sometimes help figure out the best next step, but we may need to refer you back to your primary care provider or another specialist.

What You Don’t Need to Be to Come to SendSlim

You do not need to:

  • Be at a certain size or BMI before coming
  • Be “disciplined” or “perfect”
  • Have the “right body type”
  • Already eat healthy all the time
  • Already exercise every day

You can come if:

  • You’re scared
  • You’re tired of trying alone
  • You’re not sure what to do next

We meet you where you are.

What to Expect If You’re a Good Fit

If SendSlim sounds right for you, here’s what usually happens:

  1. You schedule a telehealth visit
    • Choose a date and time that works for you.
  2. You fill out online forms
    • Medical history
    • Medications and allergies
    • Weight history and goals
  3. You meet with a clinician by video or phone
    • Review your health and labs (if available)
    • Talk about your daily life and struggles
    • Discuss options, including:
      • Food and habit changes
      • Gentle movement ideas
      • Sleep and stress support
      • Weight-loss medications when safe and appropriate
  4. You get a personal plan
    • Clear first steps
    • Follow-up visits to adjust your plan and keep you safe

This is a partnership, not a lecture.

Is SendSlim Right for You?

SendSlim may be right for you if you:

  • Are 18 or older
  • Are in California or Nevada
  • Want medical help with weight and health
  • Prefer telehealth visits
  • Are ready to make changes step by step
  • Want a clinic that treats you with respect, not shame

If that sounds like you, a SendSlim visit can be a strong next step in your weight-loss journey.
